Ramayana and Mahabharata are the two great historical & spiritual epics, upon which Hindu philosophy rests.
There have been numerous commentaries written by thinkers ever since these historical events took place.
Shri Narayana Pandithacharya who is known to have authored important and rare works in Sanskrit was a contemporary of Shri Achaarya Madhva. He was the son of Shri Trivikrama Panditacharya, a direct disciple of Shri Achaarya Madhva. He authored
"Sangraha Ramayana", a concise summary of Valmiki Ramayana and Madhva Ramayana. It gives insights of key characters of Ramayana, while taking the reader to the times of Thretha Yuga. In the year 1959, Shri Bannanje Govindacharya translated this Sanskrit work into Kannada. This popular book went into quite a few repeat publications. Tara Prakashana, got the book translated to Hindi, by Prof. Nagappa, with an objective of spreading the work to a larger audience.
Over 1000 books have been distributed so far to hospitals such as - Narayana Hrudayalaya, MS Ramaiah Memorial and Narayana Nethralaya.
