Shivananda Smruthi Puraskar Award

Bharatheeyatha is an annual celebration organized by the Satsankalpa Foundation Inc. This event recognizes individuals and organizations who actively practice and support Sanathana Dharma in the United States. Additionally, the celebration showcases the cultural richness of India through various artistic performances. The gathering took place at Connecticut, USA on May 19th this year. More than 660 people attended this event in person from various States of USA and India and 300+ have watched the Live Stream. Dr. Smt Mitra Vasisht, Indian Foreign Service (Retired Ambassador of India) as Chief Guest and Smt Pragya Singh Consul (Visa & Attestation) Consulate General of India, New York as Special Guest have presided over the event. President of the organization Sri Sridhar Tallapaka addressing the audience has spoken about Bharatheeyatha, Sanathana Dharma and briefed on the Foundation. An AV about the Foundation has given more details about the organization and its activities. This year Prof P.R.Mukund from North Carolina, Smt Uma Vyjayanthi Kallakuri from NewJersey and Sri Madhu Reddy from Connecticut received ‘Sivananda Smruthi Puraskar’ from Satsankalpa Foundation for their immense contributions to Sanathana Dharma. The Award is named after Pujya Guru ji SathGuru Sivananda Murthy Garu who is an embodiment of Sanathana Dharma and Bharatheeyatha. They shared their knowledge and experiences with the audience. ‘Nrithyanjali: An obeisance to Saints of Bharat’ was presented through different classical dance forms of India. Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Odissi dance forms were performed by children from various Dance schools at Connecticut. The kids each were presented with a certificate and momento by the Sivananda Smruthi Puraskar awardees. The Dance teachers were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Smt & Dr. Mitra Vasisht. Different Cultural organization’s that are striving to preserve the culture and heritage of Bharat and their representatives were felicitated at the event by special guest Smt Pragya Singh. The Chief and Special Guests were felicitated by Sri Sridhar Tallapaka and his wife Smt Padma Tallapaka. Both the Special Guest and Chief Guest have addressed the audience. They spoke about saving the Mother Nature and preserving Sanathana Dharma. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks and by singing both the countries USA and India National Anthems.

Tara Prakashana was created under the leadership and guidance of Prof. P.R. Mukund. A sister organization to Foundation for The Preservation of Knowledge - Penfield, New York, Tara Prakashana is headquartered in Bengaluru, India and works actively to digitize, archive, and preserve Vedic manuscripts. As a non profit trust, Tara Prakashana is committed to the preservation, education and publication of Vedic philosophy and heritage.
